It was informative for a person without any knowledge or little knowledge about meditation and being mindful. I appreciate it not being too long, it was to the point.
I was drawn to this book because I get antsy when I sit to meditate, and I got so much out of it! Ntahtu Allen is not only a beautiful writer, but her sweet, supportive presence comes through in every word. She shares her own journey to meditation and how it has changed her life, and she inspires without being overbearing.The book is set up in easy-to-read sections so that you can read the entire thing cover-to-cover, or you can pick out sections and exercises that are the most useful to you wherever you are in your meditation practice. I especially loved the 7 Best-Ever Meditation Tips -- they are all so genuine and doable! There's also a section on meditating with your kids that is wonderful. I just love this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Meditation for beginners by Ntathu Allen is a book written having in mind the busy life that most of us live. It analyses what is meditation and how to practice it taking into consideration the various real-life problems and issues that we are facing on an everyday level and offers hands-on and down to earth solutions. It explains everything from defining what medication is to the most comfortable way to practice, mistakes we need to avoid to achieve the desired results to which most common obstacles we face when we try to incorporate meditation into our hectic lives. It is well written and I highly recommend it if you are genuinely interested in learning how to meditate.
I was very pleased when the author, Ntathu Allen, gave me the chance to download this book because I have been learning yoga and knew that meditation goes hand in hand with yoga, but I didn’t know where to start. As she explains at the beginning of the book,“After reading this book, and practicing the guided meditations and breathing awareness exercises, you’ll know how to quickly meditate for instant calm, clarity, and confidence.†She covers different scenarios for meditation including walking, eating, knitting, writing, coloring and being in nature. Ntathu explains that proper breathing technique is a large part of successful meditation, and walks the reader through steps to accomplish this. I recommend this book for anyone who is learning meditation or can benefit from a helpful refresher on meditation techniques.

People failed to realize that stress not only hurt work but kills and meditation can help them. Had these people used meditation, they would have learnt how to relax, enjoy life, family, and even work.Allen tells us how to do it. We learn about seven easy to use meditation techniques, four simple breathing procedures, and three yoga practices that help us relax and calm our minds.There are, thus, more than one way to meditate. There is even a way to meditate while walking. When we meditate, the mind becomes clear, relaxed, inwardly focused. We are fully awake and alert, but our minds are not focused on what is external to us, to the outside world, to what is taking place around us. As a result, we feel calm and at peace.
