One difficulty with a book like this is in gauging the expertise of the author beyond taking his claims on faith. At least by this measure, the book seems credible to me. Of course, the ultimate guide will be whether implementing the book’s suggestions results in a savings or not and you wouldn’t have to save much to make the purchase worthwhile.The book does use some technical terms or insurance jargon. However, the author explains most of these when first used and again in a glossary at the back. Understanding these terms should be easy enough for most people.A potential reader is probably interested in knowing what kinds of hints the book explains. One hint, applicable to a policy with multiple drivers (maybe a husband and a wife) is that who is listed first on the policy (the “primary” insured) can make a significant difference in the amount of the premium. He explains why this is and how to determine which driver to make primary to get the best quote. Another hint explains why having a bad memory could cost you and what to do to prevent this. BUT it is informative and important stuff, written by a person who was a top insurance salesman.The book is broken down into easy to follow chapters. Risk discounts, coverage and a quoting tool. John gives great recommendations on what is necessary and what is foolish to leave on or off your policyPAY ATTENTION. Some of the information is stuff I already knew but there is alot here I didnt know.Did you know a paypal account can get you a discount in some states.How about at tire flying into your car from the truck in front of you is not your fault BUT once it bounces on the road and you hit it it IS your fault.Keep yourself better informed than your agent.

About the Author

Samantha Clark and Samuel Clark have both cooked at leading restaurants such as The River Cafe and the Eagle gastropub. They joined forces to open Moro in London in 1997. Since then the restaurant has enjoyed impressive reviews and accolades, including being voted Best Restaurant in 2009's Observer Food Monthly awards. This is an excellent book, however many of the ingredients are very hard if not impossible to find. If you don't have access to a Spanish cooking supply shop, I would pass on this book. In addition, some of the recipes need a bit of work. I've tried several soup recipes and all of them were lacking in flavor and needed additional work to repair.

For those who are familiar with the books of claudia roden and penelope casas on middle eastern food and spanish food, this book has definitely a few new things to offer. The recipees are basic, with few ingredients, emphasis on good taste and relatively simple to prepare. Do not expect elaborate "Michelin restaurant" style type dishes. The authors like spiced (not hot)food, so if you like that too, then stock up on your cumin, coriander and paprika, and start pickling your own lemons.The book starts with a curious chapter on dishes prepared with wild ingredients (herbs) from the area in spain where the authors live (Andalucia). The four seasons are each presented with 2-3 dishes. While it is apparently meant to set the scene, I found this chapter a bit out of place and too much "Jamie Oliver" with pictures of happy family and tales of friendly neighbours; the dishes are sometimes less easy to prepare with the ingredients listed. What follows is a short chapter on bread which i did not find particularly intersting. Despite the encouriging remarks of the authors, (it only takes 10 minutes!) making bread by hand the classic way takes time, is messy, and the results is always a bit disappointing.The next chapters on soups and on mezze and starters however is very good with many good recipees. Other chapters are on slads, fish, meat and vegetables (!). The meat chapter has 6 nice lamb, 2 pork, 2 beef and 4 chicken recipees. They are rather classic (roast lamb, sirloin steak) but again of good taste. However, you will find a much wider selection in both Roden or Casas. The authors admit that they only recently started to get interested in desserts, and the book therefore is relatively short on this item, with a few good cakes, ice and fruit desserts. In conclusion: its not a real restaurant book with complete menu suggestions, and it has frequent accounts of personal life and travels (it is a bit romantic, organic and jamie oliver style), but the few recipies i have tried so far where easy to prepare and tasted very much oke: 4 stars..One last remark to the publisher: the list of suppliers and reference to particular brands of flower is usefull for UK readers but of no use to readers outside the UK. Would it be a better idea to include websites of suppliers in europe and USA where foodstuff can be ordered?

This book is SO inspiring. We use this book more than any other. Moro really inspires us to challenge our taste-buds and when we have people over for dinner they always want to know where we got the ideas.

A must have book for anyone with an understanding of good ingredients. The recipes are fantastic! Love it!!

I purchased this (and its Paris version) for my 10 year olds as we prepared for a trip to London. They devoured it, were able to tell me many interesting facts about the city and were excited about a trip as a result. This is the type of book they pick up again and again. Great purchase.

This was a gift for my nephews. They loved it and my sister and brother-in-law used it as a teaching tool before their trip with young boys (6 and 10). It worked — the boys were excited about the trip and knew what they wanted to see, so appreciated it more.

This series is an excellent way to explore European cities, history, art and culture. My 7 year old refused to let me look at the books ("It says on the cover 'Not for parents!' Mommy!") But she ended up being our little tour guide, citing facts and gruesome stories (got to love European history!) and learning so much during out urban adventures.

Our 8-year-old daughter LOVED this. Granted, some of the cartoon-like depictions of heads on pikes at the Tower of London may be been a bit gruesome, but she had fun reading this "insiders guide" targeted at the tween set. Our kid is a bit precocious so she reads a lot of material aimed at the 9-12 crowd.

We are headed on a trip this summer and we got a few of these books for our kids to look through. Turns out my husband and I have enjoyed these just as much as our kids. Well laid out and fun to read.

I bought this for my 11 year old granddaughter to take on her trip to London to compete in the world competition for Irish dance in April. She had a grand time sharing all the unknown and sometimes creepy info with her friends. A big hit!
