This is one of the nicest books in my collection. I highly recommend it to any student of textiles and to those who are interested in learning how flax is transformed into such a wonderful even-weave fabric used to make clothing and Samplers.

Not knowing much about flax and with a project to establish a flax bed at a local museum I needed a comprehensive source of information. The Big Book of Flax is that in spades.
There's a lot of good information here, but some of the graphics are repetitive and wince-worthy. There aren't a ton of contemporary books on flax-working available, so the Zinzendorfs are to be commended for taking it on as a topic. For those of us who spin flax, their YouTube videos are almost surely familiar. The book expands on the content of those videos, and is a nice reference for many things "flax." If you've gone down the fiber rabbit hole far enough that you are thinking about growing, processing, or spinning your own flax, you may as well have this book on your shelf.
